PART 7: Statistics and distributions

Part 7: statistics and distributions. You will type data into a table, read the mean, the standard deviation and the quartiles, fit a line or a curve, and use the normal, binomial and Poisson distributions.

Statistics: the data

Example 27: statistics, the data. MODE then 1 selects STAT mode. Choose one of eight kinds of statistics, then type the data into a table.

Statistics: the results

Example 28: statistics, the results. Close the table with DATA. ALPHA then 8 opens the STAT menu with the results.

Normal probability

Example 30: normal probability. In STAT mode, the MATH menu has the functions P, Q, and R of the standard normal distribution, and a function that standardizes a value.

MODE 7 – Distributions

Select DISTRIBUTION mode with MODE, 7. It calculates with the normal, the binomial, and the Poisson distributions, and the answer is stored in memory ANS.
